A strategy is defined as “A plan for a achieving a goal.”

Let’s get you a strategy.

Start with the goal – what do you want?

This must be clear as crystal.

Now, in your GUT does that FEEL doable?

If the answer is yes, you’re good to go.

If the answer is no . . . if there’s a feeling deep down . . . doubt, stress, sadness, confusion . . . then you’ve got your first hurdle to deal with.

You can chunk the goal down into smaller parts, or reduce the goal.

For example, if you want to run a 26.2 mile marathon, but that doesn’t feel doable now, maybe you start by running a 5K first.

Or if you want to earn $100,000 per year from your online business, maybe start by building a list of 100 who will buy $50 worth of something from you.

You can’t achieve a goal that doesn’t feel doable – that you can’t believe WILL happen.  And I’m not talking “I got pumped up!! and juiced up!! YEAH MAN!!” . . . I mean you hold no feelings of doubt.  Even when you hit inevitable failures you’re going to absorb it, get back up and go KNOWING it’s just a part of the process.

Of course you don’t have to scale back, and there is a faster way to “feel it” –

Recognize that a feeling is a feeling and feelings aren’t real.  You can’t hand me a pound of feeling.  Right now you can feel more of anything you want – or less.

Feelings are the result of a thought or many thoughts that made an impact on you.

That impact was strong enough you decided “I’m going to hold onto that – I might need it up the road.”

Because someone else said “Money doesn’t grow on trees . . . money is hard to come by . . . you gotta pinch those pennies . . . rich people are evil” you jotted that down in your memory and now you have feelings that define your reality, and often hold you back.

The feeling is only real for as long as you choose to hold it.  But that’s what defines your reality, now and into the future. Nothing changes until the feeling changes, or it’s simply “let go”.

OK. Next you need the plan.

There is a saying – “A plan is nothing but planning is everything.”

Yes, you do need something to execute and a roadmap to get started. But more than that you need to constantly assess and remain open to “a better way”.

The first plan you come up with probably won’t work, because that plan is based on what you already know and if that was going to work why hasn’t it?

You need a flow of fresh ideas, to look at every corner of the box, and then outside of it. Plans evolve, necessarily, when we’re not attached to the “how” when what we want is the “what”.

Put your brain to work by making a list of 10-20-30 ideas for how you could achieve your goal.

If you don’t have the drive to sit down and do that . . . maybe you don’t really want what you think you want.

So get after it. You need a strategy for success and that begins with knowing what you want, letting go of the resistance to having it, then formulating a plan with the full awareness “plans are nothing, planning is everything”.

All the best to you – John “X” Barker
