Master X,
Thank you for this awesome video, which you created. it was a total “trip’n a’half” to watch, to be sure! Both entertaining and enlightening, at the same time.
The thought occurred to me, with regard to its special “shape-shifting” effect, that this video was a kind of experiment in a film technique known to some as “pattern interrupt.” While I don’t know much about it, I do know that some believe it to be an effective technique at increase overall conversions.
While I know very little about that technique, admittedly, the thought did occur to me that if it worked at that level, to increase conversions, by breaking down natural resistance to both the message and messenger, then it must also work as an educational technique or device to enhance awareness of the subject at hand, and thus to increase true learning.
Your approach to Adwords both fascinated me on many levels; and struck me as being highly logical, to say the least. It brought great clarity to my thinking, in the area of traffic generation. Just out of curiosity, however, if the expected conversion rate of buyers is 3%-5%, what would be an expected conversion rate of shoppers, and of info seekers?
At about the 7:09 point, (into the video,) you refer to the building of review type pages, btw. What I would like to know, in regard to review pages and blogs, is whether or not you still recommend using them to promote Clickbank products, in view of your latest Clickbank revelation? Would compliance with Clickbank’s latest regulation(s) tend to make Clickbank product reviews less effective than previously, or prior to the latest CB update?
At around 9:26, you state emphatically that we ought to strategically focus on one or two niches at the most; as opposed to 10 or 20, like in the “early” days of online marketing; and to study those your main niche)s in as much depth and detail as possible, in order that we might acquire expertise and credibility, in those fields of activity; or the power of core influence and persuasion.
For those marketers just beginning, your message is loud and clear, with regard to limiting their niche selection to “the power of one.” The “power of one” is a marketing technique I first heard mentioned by the affiliate who drove me to your AB offer. I won’t mention his name here as I’m sure you know who it is, I’m referring to.
I love that expression: “the Power of One.” This requires the budding IM to really drill down into his psyche, and to tap way down into his central core of power and influence. In simple terms, this translates into knowing one’s greatest area of expertise, and then remaining true to one’s Self by building upon that core, or inner strength.
Many years ago, I had a martial arts teacher who taught me a little something about awareness. He use to say that the martial artist with the greatest degree or level of present time awareness, during a martial encounter with an opponent, would seize the victory every time. Expanding on that, he would say that a sixth degree master black belt (red sash) has six times the level of awareness possessed by a first degree black belt (black sash).
Extrapolating from that and applying it to the field of internet marketing, one might say that the principle of the power of one demands that the IM master one niche before graduating to a second, or third niche market. A true master of internet marketing, that is, the one who possesses a sixth degree black belt in IM, can effectively manage six niches at one time, with authority; whereas the first degree holder, in internet marketing, cannot manage or dominate more than one niche at a time.
It would seem, then, than until one attains the black belt level of proficiency in his/her chosen niche market, he/she should not waste energy thinking about expanding into a second niche, let alone a third, fourth, or even fifth, for that matter; which would only serve to dilute their holistic awarenes over too wide or great a field of activity; and thus minimize, rather than maximize their power of jnfluence and rate of conversion.
One might say, on this basis, that an organic connection exists between the development of character and personality, and the development of the power of persuasion in salea and marketing. The better that we know ourselves, the better will we be at tapping into our core level of power and influence over others. This speaks to your teaching, Master X, on knowing the field or terrain better than our opponent(s); or knowing and understanding their most primal needs and desires better than they do. Of what terrain do we presently speak, then, if not of the human heart and condition?
According to Yin and Yang school of thought, what is within is without, and vice versa. Unity exists inherently between the macro and micro-cosmic realms (worlds) of existence. This is the basic message of the I Ching, a strategic manual of success, which predates even Master Sun’s classic on the Art of War. It cannot be reasonably denied that Master Sun was himself a devoted student of the I Ching, as were all the ancient Chinese sages that predate him.
It is written in the first hexagram, (of the Wilhelm edition of the I Ching,) that the four attributes of the Creative yang power “show ‘the great man’ the way to notable success: ‘Because he sees with great clarity causes and effects, he completes the six steps at the right time and mounts toward heaven on them at the right time, as though on six dragons.’ The six steps are the six different positions given in the hexagram, which are represented later by the dragon symbol.”
We may extrapolate from that saying, incidentally, the six steps to success, an expression popularized by Napoleon Hill himself, in ‘Think and Grow Rich’!
The entire I Ching is, in some genuine manner, an expansion of, and commentary upon Hexagram One, and thus upon these six steps to success! Elsewhere, in Hexagram One, Wilhelm writes the following:
“With this Image (of hexagram One) as a model, the sage learns how best to develop himself so that his influence may endure. He must make himself strong in every way, by consciously casting out all that is inferior and degrading. Thus he attains that tirelessness which depends upon consciously limiting the fields of his activity.”
We may extrapolate from these words the principle regarding the power of one, or concentrating all our awareness into a single thought, or field of activity, or niche market, if you will. “He must make himself strong in every way,” the text says, “by consciously casting out all that is inferior and degrading;” in the perfecting of his craft and the honing of his marketing skill(s).
These are just a few of the thoughts, Master X, which were triggered by your very engaging video! I hope you don’t mind my sharing in this forum. Thanks for your patience with this IM “Newb”!
