Google Adwords New Keyword Tool BETA

by elkid

I just decided to try Google’s new keyword tool.

Access the new Google keyword tool here

For some reason I got an error when trying to use it in Firefox but it worked alright in Internet Explorer.

You can still search by keyword and website but I noticed in the Advanced options you can also specify what country.

Another thing I noticed was the top languages (like the ones that are the most common go to the top and then the rest are below in alphabetical order) you can choose are set as English, Japanese, German and Portuguese – English didn’t shock me and neither did Portuguese although it was a pleasant surprise but the others sort of did and no Spanish.

Is Google trying to say something?…

With this new Adwords keyword tool you can also include mobile phone searches (search volume only), ideas containing your search terms, limit searches by your maximum cost per click and daily budget, filter keywords by competition, global and monthly searches, search share and estimated average cpc and add as many filter keyword conditions you like.

There are also categories you can pick straight away that will bring up keywords in those niches as well as check off broad, exact and phrase matching.

You can also see trends by clicking the little magnifying glass in Google Insights for Search and more directly from Google’s new Adwords keyword tool.

So far, maybe I just don’t have the hang of it, I don’t like it mainly because results are much less than with the current Adwords Keyword Tool unless you are signed in and I can be lazy.

I’m using IE8 but under Windows 7 (64bit). I’ll try in a Vista dual boot when I have time to shut stuff down and reboot.
